Deeply moving! There is some universal truth about it that will make this song endure.

A nice touch that the background flashes white only at the end when he calls to the Lord by name, and one more flash in his final reference to The Maker.

I just wish I could understand all.....the words in his songs. My favorite....which blew my pants off....was Beautiful Child!! .......Would like to know the lyrics, though.

Anyone who was ever forced to be away from someone they love must surely love this song. It expresses with simplicity and elegance that painful feeling. I love it.

I hope Rufus is grateful to his parents for not only his genetics, but the rigorous training that his father dragged him through. It has made him into something amazing.

How this song got passed over for an Academy Award nomination is a mystery.

I have to say that the very first time I heard this song, on the soundtrack to Brokeback Mountain, I thought that what I was hearing was the voice of a very deep voiced Black Woman! It was only after I researched into the very complex life of Rufus Wainright that I could actually understand how I could have thought that! As it was sung on that soundtrack, it was true artistry!
