Ronnie Dove was born September 7, 1935 in Herndon, VA where he grew up before moving to Baltimore after high school. He was discovered singing in a bar in Baltimore and signed to Diamond Records where he remained for 6 years. With the label he scored 20 hot 100 hits, 9 of them were top 20 hits, and this record was the B side to the #16 charting A Little Bit Of Heaven. I love both sides of this record and feel that they cheated themselves out of another hit by keeping this one on the B side. Both sides of this 45 were arranged by the legendary funny man Ray Stevens, who took a few years off from recording to work behind the scenes. This side was written by Ben Raleigh and Mark Barkan. Ronnie still performs to this day and he sounds better than ever. If you ever get a chance to see him in concert I highly recommend it. I hope you enjoy this 45 as I love it.
