Her technique is so superb. So many sopranos with good voices don't seem to understand the change in tone and force with the meaning of the lyrics the way rita does. Hard not to fall in love with this brilliant woman, the notes at 3:57 made my dreams linger, and then it gets better to the end. Fabulous.

the higher register is unmatched. The sweetness, clarity, and purity of tone is heavenly. And to think, my seven year old son found her after listening to her sing caro mio babbino in the Mr. Bean movie. He picked Ms Streich over kiri te kanawa, callas, and sarah brightman. Innocence is the best judgement sometimes. The last note is unbelievable.

It was privelidge to hear and see this wonderful singer in concert in Auckland in the mid 1960s. Such charm and artistry, don't see it much now.For an encore she gave us Vienna, city of my dreams. You can imagine the ovation. The next night she sang Strauss's 4 last songs with the symphony orch. Unforgettable!!
