I personally don't think this is just about America. In my opinion, it's a song that is about how, through entirety of mankind, we have always fought wars and poured up to millions of soldiers into them. The song is asking "Why do we waste so many lives on war, when only sometimes great things come out of them?" "Why do we pour so much into destruction, rather than building international peace?" Anyway, that's just some random person's opinion, so take it however you want.5 years ago

I know it's just a movie sample, but that line about Rome really, really annoys me on a historical level. As though somebody just came by one day and was like "nope, no more Rome".If you ask the Eastern Emperors, Rome - the nation, not the city - didn't "fall" for over a millennium after those punk Visigoths knocked on the door. What purpose do they serve? At the end of the day - paycheck or no paycheck - if we're being invaded and innocent lives are in danger, I'd bet the first to come to answer the call to our defense would be today's servicemen. No matter where they go or what they do overseas, in the end they will defend our country to the end. To our veterans of today and past, you don't hear it enough but thank you.
