Summer is here

I need you so

We'll be together

Once more, I know

Darling, I'll hold you

Deep in the night

'Cause when I hold you

Everything is all right

Because I love you so

We'll go strolling

Through the park

And I'll caress you

Somewhere in the dark

And then, my darling

I know you'll see

You are the only love

In this world for me

Because I want you so

Tell me you love me

Make me a king

For you, my darling

I'd do anything

Because I love you so

Ooooooooooh!

Richard Barrett was a Poor Man's Berry Gordy (Motown). In The UK Documentary he managed the Career of The Three Degrees who went through various Group changes. He always reminded them that he could "replace" them. Kind of a veiled threat.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. His voice here was velvet and the Chantels sang like angels! If you don't know it, checkout the version by Tony Rice on Princeton, too - more magic. (And check out Richard Barrett's "Some Other Guy," a Ray Charles-styled track that should have been a hit - and a cover of which was almost The Beatles' first 45!)

Richard Barrett, one of the most under rated singers of all time.  Had no solo hits.  Had hits as a member of the Valentines.  Great producer for many groups.
