Found the album in a used bin for $2 back in 76. First RTF album I ever bought. As you know, this is the first cut off Side 1. Forever changed me and been a fusion head ever since.

My dad had it on vinyl. I bought it years later on cd. When I was young it was too heavy and technical for me to listen to. Now I'm a big 70s fusion fan.

A UFO from outer space lands on earth, the aliens ask our leaders:" So, let us recall, you had 70s british prog-rock and 80s american fusion-jazz and then? Where and when did you fuck up??!!"

Wow. This is not really my music taste at all, I'm more into indie/alt rock, pop and even a little bit of EDM when I feel like it and about 70% of the stuff I listen to is modern music, but I stumbled upon this and it's just such a nice track! I really enjoy the diversity in it. So this is classed as Jazz-Rock is that correct? Can anyone recommend me other similar bands?

Is this supposed to be the same "Overture" from Grp super live 1987? Because it sounds absolutely nothing like it..

Romantic Warrior is my favorite RTF recording. I saw these guys live in 1976 performing this album. It was my first time seeing any of these guys perform live. I was already a big fan of both Stanley Clarke and Lenny White. At that concert Stanley blew my mind with his speed when playing those short bass rifts. I actually could not see his fingers move. Lenny was awesome on the drums. Very quick in his attacks and with such great timing to put them all back into a rhythmic harmony.

Saw these guys live in 1977. They opened the show with this song and received a standing ovation. AFTER THE FIRST SONG!!

uddy rich was great....but he is no match for these top 3 : lenny white billy cobham, dennis chambers....those 3 or better yet any of the above three are better than buddy rich...ill give buddy rich # 6 out of 1000 drummers, but he(in my opinion cant top those 3 + tony williams and narada m. walden....sorry charlie....you have been squashed!!!!
