Biggie is still king in my opinion his two albums Ready to Die and Life After Death are among the best from rap.

The fact you have Tupac on that list meanwhile spouting about not just overhyping someone for dying made my day. Let's face it, Pac is famous for the exact reason you used to diss Biggie. And saying Biggie's song had no message is not a relevant argument, no song holds the same relevance to each individual listener. There's no greatest rapper of all time but there definitely is a worst. So just be happy that if you like Big L, Big Pun, Biggie, Pac etc. your rapper will never be on that list.

When dude says Big is the greatest--like he says Big's "appeal" was indeniable! I agree. For the sheer fact that a lot of gr8 rappers, i.e. Jay, Snoop, Nas, Scarface, KRS, Ice Cube--these guys are dope as fuck! But their appeal in some form or fashion was not as potent as Big's was. *Think back rap wasn't even being played on the radio, unless it was late@ night or on a special segment where they had a 2hr block or some shit--fast4wars 2 NOW...you have stations whose claim 2 fame...

You really gotta listen to his songs again, to his flow, the punchlines, the wordplay that he used and the message he had ! All the rappers you named are great fo sure legends especially Pac, Big L, Rakim, Nas and Wu-Tang ! But nobody had a flow as BIG and the deep voice Period !

So all of a sudden YOU tell who's the greatest. There's never going to be one "greatest rapper of all time". It's a personal pick that somebody would choose Biggie over somebody else. But dead rappers do get better promotion.
