Oh, life is bigger it's bigger than you

and you are not me.

The lengths that I will go to,

the distance in your eyes,

Oh no, I've said too much

I set it up.

That's me in the corner,

that's me in the spotlight,

losing my religion

trying to keep up with you

and I don't know if I can do it.

Oh no, I've said too much,

I haven't said enough,

I thought that I heard you laughing

I thought that I heard you sing

I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper of every waking hour

I'm choosing my confessions,

trying to keep an eye on you

like a hurt lost and blinded fool.

Oh no, I've said too much

I set it up.

Consider this, consider this

the hint of the century.

Consider this, the slip that brought me

to my knees failed.

What if all these fantasies

come flailing around.

Now I've said too much,

I thought that I heard you laughing

I thought that I heard you sing

I think I thought I saw you try.

But that was just a dream,

that was just a dream.

That's me in the corner,

that's me in the spotlight,

losing my religion,

trying to keep up with you

and I don't know if I can do it.

Oh no, I've said too much,

I haven't said enough,

I thought that I heard you laughing

I thought that I heard you sing

I think I thought I saw you try.

But that was just a dream

Try.. cry.. why try?

That was just a dream,

just a dream, just a dream.. dream.

... one of the best performances ...

I was there 17 years ago. I was in Mount Sinai and St. Michael's Hospitals for cancer treatment and heard REM was doing a concert at the corner of Yonge and Dundas. So I sneaked out of the hospital and went down to see them. The nurses were pissed because I was two hours late for a chemo treatment. My doctors weren't impressed either when I told them that I'd miss treatment but there was no way I was going to miss REM.Hey you fuckers...I'm still here...

One of the best bands EVER!  I was there.  Going through a tough time and left crying after this one!  Still going through more tough times.  People listen to sad music.  I listen to this one song, cry my eyes out and then it gets better.

I love it when artists sound just as good live as they do in the studio!

Broke my hip dancing to this....Home alone and put up the tunes.  Trying out my fave dance moves and then oops....Cannot do the fave moves anymore - well except for shaking my head and hair to Sweet's  Ballroom Blitz.  Not too keen on breaking my neck too.  Still love you/these guys - THE BEST songs!
