i love refused musically, but this 'pseudo-anti-capitalism' is just fucking ridiculus.

Does Refused actually have any straight hardcore punk songs? They really seem like more of a post-hardcore band, taking influences from metal and jazz and electronic and whatnot. Even the stuff I've heard from their earlier albums doesn't sound like straight hardcore.

So playing in front of 40 paying fans that want to see you at a small venue is okay... but playing in front of 40,000 paying fans who want to see you at a large venue isn't. Yeah... totally makes sense. They should have made the fans that can't fit into your hipster bar stand outside in the cold for an hour, and fight to get close enough so they could maybe hear a guitar riff here and there. They shouldn't allow thousands of their dedicated fans to hear their music and message... What the fuck?

Please, for your own sake, don't use words if you don't know what they mean.

dafuq. you don't get it son. If you wanna make a call to arm, might as well be heard by as many as possible. And it's not because they sold out, It's cause people started liking their music. You make no sense

I find it funny how you criticize them for being on TV and sold out shows because they criticize capitalism, yet you're not criticizing them for using instruments or selling records or anything else that's necessary from capitalism. Now there are things to be criticized about capitalism, but my point still stands.

The major theme of The Shape of Punk To Come is that capitalism is fucking bullshit. It's less of an album, more of a call to arms. Now they're on TV, and playing big selling sold out shows. It completely conflicts with the anti-capitalist message if they're supporting it.

one way to try to ruin a Refused song is to put a commercial at the beginning...
