Has music just not sounded the same to you since Miami Vice went off the air? Then you're in luck! The synth drums in Kong bring analog drum sounds back to your music. Most analog sounds these days are sampled, meaning the sound you load is the sound you've got. In this micro tutorial you'll see how easy it is to make wonderfully tweakable analog synth drums and assign them to your pads.

I don´t understand why you compare Kong with Thor? Should compare it with Redrum

Question: does KONG comes up with a 16 step drum sequencer, just like Redrum? I just love to make beats using this kind of interface. Thanks.

Why not make a clip in the Reason sequencer, let it loop while playing and then simply add (or remove) notes as you seem fit? Such a clip can be easily (ab)used as a step sequencer too.

I've been trying out Kong lately and I can see how to sequence it via a Redrum device but it's a bit cumbersome. Would be nice if Props could introduce a new sequencer for Kong, just as a separate device would be fine.. maybe as a rack extension or maybe an insert like the Nurse Rex thing.. You need two Redrum devices to cover all 16 pads. I tried using a Matrix device but that too would require multiple devices to sequence all the pads. Are there any easier ways to sequence I'm maybe missing?

First of all...there's no such thing as a dumb question. All questions are awesome because it means we're all asking questions and learning and getting better. The day we start to suck is the day we stop wondering how to get better. :) To answer you, what you're talking about is called "Quantizing" and if you look at the Tool Window you'll see that you can shift notes after you play them in so that they're on beat. It's too much to describe via youtube but it's in the documentation. Good luck!

I hope this isn't a dumb question, but when you played the end result beat, how did you add all those effects and keep it in beat? I'll record kick and snare, but when i try to add hi-hat, it's totally off.. is there someway you can play it bad and make it come out all in beat? Thanks

do you mean level as in volume controls? Yes it has level control for each pad as well as a master level. Is that what you're asking?
