Mega rarity. The original 45 on Studio 1 is just about impossible to find. This copy is from a mid sixties Studio 1 album (which in itself is also very rare) called Oldies But Goodies, Volume 2.

For the 25 years that my radio program Brave New World was on the air in Santa Fe NM I always mixed Jamaican and American doo wop....listeners were always astounded. but when I brought reggae groups to Santa Fe we always talked about how Jamaicans used to listen to great doo wop stations coming out of the east coast in the 60s and how everyone in Jamaica loved the music and then sang it in their own style...fabulous.

Jamaican doo-wop is criminally overlooked, both by doo-woppers in general, and probably by quite a few reggae fans...add a mid-tempo ska riddim like this one, and you've got pure magic...I think most of the Studio One sides have been reissued and frankly bootlegged so often, it's nearly impossible to find clean sound (Heartbeat released quite a few CDs from original masters from both Coxsone and Treasure Isle/Duke Reid, and while I still love vinyl, those are probably the definitive releases if you want to hear the sounds at their best

@two9parkave Thanks for answering, I appreciate it! The full name of the producer and manager is Winston Chin Quee and the label name came of the colaboration with Coxsone Dodd = Wincox.

@DJPowerVersion Yes Chin Quee was manager and owner of the Mighty Vikings, I can still remember Vikings sessions at the V.I.P. club in Halfwaytree and Sombrero at Four Roads.

I agree. Now I just need to find an original 45 because the album has terrible sound quality. I'm sure the 45 is much, much better
