That glimpse of a rap near the end of the track gave this version an unique place among those timeless 80's songs... IMHO...

Pela cantora Laura Branigan foi a que mais fez sucesso. Curti bastante - 1984.

And Laura Branigan can take every effort to sing like a man: This is the original, the best ever version of this song!!!!!

lol i guess very well, when i heard the Laura Branigan version i have bet that it was to Moroderish or Italian for an American ^^ song ^^ because of the walking bass synth, and all the synth drum and sparkling high lead note ^^ there a lot of Italo Disco using the same stuff, it was a cliché back then ^^ P. Lion or Koto was also a good example of that kind of music, it was pre Eurodance or Dance music for us in Europe.

The Laura Branigan version had a great hard driving guitar sound, but RAFs version is way better. Its obvious the song is about a guy who is submissive. Saying it's "gay" is so base and juvenille. The Laura Branigan version the video was CREEPY AS HELL lol. When she is singing ITS ALSO about someone who is submissive (the video pretty much makes that clear). Also the lyrics were tweaked in her version, personally I much prefer RAFs lyrics. I like her version based on the sound, but RAF? AWESOME! btw I'm American. Thanks all!

I like some things about this original version like the instruments, but Laura Branigan, who had a much more powerful voice took this song to amazing heights. It's interesting to two of her major hits came from Italians. It's good to know that. I like Umberto Tozzi's original version of Gloria if I'm comparing originals.
