I'll never forget... At least we knew who we were as a country.... Our new enemy is state funded and will take our islands without a shot fired, our so called leaders handing everything these brave men fought for in the name of inclusion, political correctness and community cohesion... Not in my name, and not in my lifetime without a fight....

If I should die, think only this of me:That there's some corner of a foreign fieldThat is for ever England. There shall beIn that rich earth a richer dust concealed;A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam,A body of England's, breathing English air,Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home. And think, this heart, all evil shed away,A pulse in the eternal mind, no lessGives somewhere back the thoughts by England given; Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

I can't imagine anything as terrible as the hell that those soldiers went through in the trenches of W.W.1 battle areas such as The Somme.. Such bravery in the face of a terrible onslaught is beyond my imagination... R.I.P. Harry Patch and the thousands and thousands of your brave young colleagues who never came home - and thankyou Thom Yorke for your fantastic tribute.

Siegfried Sassoon: Suicide in the TrenchesI knew a simple soldier boyWho grinned at life in empty joy,Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,And whistled early with the lark.In winter trenches, cowed and glum,With cramps and lice and lack of rum,He put a bullet through his brain. No one spoke of him again. You smug-faced crowds with kindling eyeWho cheer when soldier lads march by,Sneak home and pray you'll never knowThe hell where youth and laughter go.

Oh such a heavenly sonnet of words to bless and praise upon dear Harry's crown...Of such a caring loving soul of beauty, that shines beyond all and everything...The song so divine of the angels loving tears...#perfection #beauty #thom #always Ches x

It was thought of as a sign of weakness to run at the enemy. It was thought that to walk and to walk slowly to your enemy was bravery at it's finest. How many lives that may have costs is unknown. Lest we forget.

My great uncle served in both world wars. My granny kept his medals but said he never talked about the first war.most of his friends from school and the workplace was in the same regiment and trenches.

I couldn't imagine dying all alone in the mud and guts on some distant battlefield. And even the ones that survived had horrible PTSD for the rest of their lives, or were horribly disfigured in some way.

Respects to all the victims of war, WW1 is very distinct as a war that only killed young men with few civilians unlike WW2. I wish we could learn but as Patch said the leaders should be given a gun and let them fight.
