Update 30.08.2014 - About Sherbert/Rickshaw

"Hello everyone. It's nice to see so many as passionate about stoner and desert rock as I am. This video has been on the internet for 5 years and I have not been delving into this old qotsa songs for some time. A fellow desert rock friend of mine pointed out that this is version of rickshaw is not called sherbert, Thus, I have changed the name to Rickshaw; I don't really have a clue what it is called anymore."

Quote from thefade.net

"This is the first demo QOTSA did prior to releasing the first album. It was recorded at Jupiter Studios in Seattle in either late 1997 or early 1998. The line-up for the recording was: Josh - guitar, John McBain - guitar, Mike Johnson - bass, and Alfredo Hernandez - drums. This demo was made to give record companies a taste of the band, as QOTSA was unsigned when this was recorded."

Tracks:

The Bronze

How to Handle a Rope

Mexicola

Oppenheimer's Brother

Sherbert

I got this song from an old Rekord Rekords Forum thread. As you may've noticed, this song is VERY similar to the song 'Rickshaw' featured in The Desert Sessions. The song is from the Plastic Turks recording session. It turned out, after a conversation between McBain and YouTube user desertblitzkrieg, that Sherbert was an instrumental he composed.

I don't think this is from desert sessions. This is a different version. SOunds way different than the desert sessions version

Eh... solid, but the desert sessions one is a bit better I think. The drumming is really the main reason, theyve got two on the DS version, and they use those two pretty well if you ask me.
