One of the most amazing song ever. Song "Who wants to live forever" is the sixth track on the album A Kind of Magic, released in June 1986, and was written by guitarist Brian May for the soundtrack to the film Highlander.

the chorus.....I watched a Queen doc and at the end they showed Freddie on his deathbead whilst playing this version of the song. The chorus showed him in the past then it cut to him saying "I still love you." Im crying omg...

This is actually titled just "Forever". It was a bonus track on the CD version of the album, along with Friends Will Be Friends Will Be Friends... and A Kind of 'A Kind of Magic. The later a just remixes but this is an individual performance as far as I know :)

Beautiful and sad at the same time. Though, the last few notes seem to end it in a hopeful wisp.

I stood in front of Freddie when he was on stage at Live Aid back in 85. When I freeze the DVD I can see the side of my head and Freddie in the same shot. That day was the most special days I have ever had in my life. There are no words to describe Freddie we all know he was too good for this world. When he died I couldn't talk I was so broken. It took me a long time to realise that he is now singing up above I truly envy the Angels. Chris Ireland

you are right - for some reason I had it my mind that the instrumental version was recorded later, but actually as you point out it was released as a bonus track with the song in 1986. Thanks for pointing that out - I feel a right idiot now! :)

What are you on about? This was written and performed in the mid 80's before Brian knew Freddie was ill.

You can hear Brian's respect for Freddie in his performance of this piece - there's sadness, anguish, anger, and fondness all pressed down on those keys :)
