3:16 so amazingly powerful, both lyrically and vocally, for a man who was having his own body shut down before him.

Yes and yes. From a technical singing point of view, there are moments where you can tell that the notes are coming from a slighter-framed Freddie (especially in his "chest" voice); but that's all, it's not "weakness".

Hearing the voice of Freddie without anything else in the background...every note is like a soul cutter...every note, every word, is so meaningful that drains tears from my eyes...how can you say his voice is weak? I think that, in particular in this song, his voice is the strongest thing I've ever heard! RIP Freddie! Music misses you so much!

Exactly and the performance is more striking because he knew what lay ahead for him...

You have to love the armchair critics...the men and women that couldn't hit a note if it were the broad side of a barn, yet describe his voice as 'weak'. They probably saw Rog say "It was an ailing voice - but still, he hit a note," and somehow interpreted that to mean Freddie's voice was weak. He recorded some of his most beautiful...some of his most powerful vocals while ill. Much respect to him.

weakness? Nope I hear the voice of someone who is looking into the abyss and knows his time is short but still carries on, a spirit undiminshed..

The story goes Brian May was not sure Freddie could nail this as he was so ill. Freddie's response was to take a hit of vodka and nail it in one take....
