Ladies and gentlemen - The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke!

It was 08.09.14, when Queen - Live at the Rainbow was officially released. Restored, remastered, overdubbed, with a little of auto-tune... As most of Queen's fans know, there was unofficial release of 19/11, 20/11 (these two were mixed) and 31/3/1974. There was tape hiss, the audio sounded slighty muffled... The video was overall great, but there was a lot of video-noise! And finally, after 40 years these shows are released in awesome quality. Also the FPS number is higher.

The audio from this video was recorded on 31/3/1974. It was the first Queen live video recording. Live at the Rainbow contains a bonus video - restored performance of Modern Times Rock and Roll and Son and Daughter. Unfortuntely it was the only two video-recorded songs. Queen played there the only known live version of The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke. It wasn't put on all those 31/3 bootlegs, including Sheetkeeckers. It's said there was a improvisation version of this song, performed in 1975, when someone from the audience shouted for it. But ouch... It wasn't recorded.

And yes. It's just a fake video, The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke probably wasn't recorded on video anytime.

The Fairy fellers master stroke is the most beautiful piece i ever heard from Queen. However, in my poor knowledge, this song never was played live.

Thanks for posting. That was great. I was under the impression Queen never performed Master Stroke live. Is this a live recording (audio) or a BBC re-release with some intruiging changes to the original on the 2nd album. Can anyone answer that definitively?

Actually, the Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke's Rainbow version was actually recorded on 16mm (and was made into an optical print) in Marchwith an estimation of 38 minutes. I hypothesized that some of the footages might be cut for lengthy reasons. (The link part had to be cut down so I'm not a nomination for spam. Type queenonline.com with a slash and add "rainbowfootage.") Nice compilation though. I'm glad to hear the Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke live, regardless of Freddie's autotuned voice.((DISABLED REPLIES DUE TO CONFUSIONS))
