You know, I always opposed breed restrictions, but I never really cared on a personal level until now (though I suppose that's the point of the song to begin with, so good job Rody). I live in Oregon, US, and we have a one-bite law where a single offense can result in your dog being put down. It's fucking barbaric.

The message about pit bulls really hits home because I, like many, live in a city with a pit bull ban. These dogs are absolutely amazing, and I can't believe how little people seem to care. "They're just dogs. I don't know why everyone gets so worked up about them." Animals are living creatures, too. They feel pain and experience emotions just like people. Dogs are very emotional animals, and I wish more people understood them, or at least tried to.

The lyrics are not only about the pit-bull ban, I think they are also a commentary on the more and more restrictive rules and by-laws our government in Ontario is putting in to place in order to extort even more money from hard-working tax payers. It's just politicians giving themselves another cause and improving their ratings, it's arbitrary what their bullshit cause happens to be at any given moment. The government is increasingly imposing on our freedoms and it is certainly something worth commenting on in the lyrics.
