This is a great version of the song, but even better is the phenomenal demo track on the Pretenders collection PIRATE RADIO. The original lyrics are much harsher and devastating and the lack of any production makes the song all the more raw. Find it. Listen.

I couldn't agree more. I fell in love with this song after I heard this live version BECAUSE of how Andy Hobson played the bass line. Isle of View is fantastic. I particularly love the way it was orchestrated and how the acoustic bass was pronounced on a few of the songs.

First time I've heard this acoustic rendition. I always loved this song -- but this version takes it so much further and deeper. Phenomenal. Thanks for posting it here for furthering our critical appreciation of this seminal group and their landmark work.
