Joel Murray, recognized to the public as Positive, was born on the 20th of March 1987 in Scarborough, Tobago. He is the second and last child of Lindwall Murray and Eulda Murray. At an early age Positive displayed a strong passion for music that he cultivated his life into it. There, reggae became his first love. This love founded him to be the lead singer of a local reggae group, L.E.G.I.T., in Tobago. It was a struggle to be heard but L.E.G.I.T. overcame the odds and made an impact on the lives of many ministering in various concerts locally. As time passed, that love for reggae music grew. He not only wrote and sang but began to produce his own music as well. Despite coming from an unwealthy background where everything stays in section 6, the love from a good family enabled Positive to take his musical passion beyond the walls of Tobago. Here he was introduced to roots-reggae producer Mark "Jah Servant" Giles. He was able to work with Jah Servant to produce his first single "Trust In Jesus." It was a complete success landing him number 2 on the Trinidad and Tobago gospel hitlist. Positive was introduced on stage for the first time as a solo artiste in Carifesta 2006 celebrations where he was able to showcase his talent in front of a vibrant audience. His second release "Never Let Go" was by far a greater success. Number 1 on the Gospel hitlist for more than 2 months. With this release he was founded a record deal with Lion Of Judah sounds. He is now scheduled to release an album in early 2008. This album features collaborations with Monty G, Mr. Lynx, Gitta Dan and a few others. The Lord has blessed him with a mindset of music as well as kingdom business, and he intends to carry the message of Christ on to as many generations as possible. There is a lot more to expect from Positive as his perfectionist mentality only inspires him to strive for the top. Positive, a young man blessed with the musical message of peace, love, unity and righteousness, continues to walk under the light of God and intends to touch the hearts of His people and show them the way to Zion.
