@LyrGil Right.... you still did not say how subject matter has anything to do with how good the song is. Yes subject of the song is meaningful in someway. However it is just that, meaningful. It has nothing to do with how pleasurable it is to hear.

@Scythe31337 A classical piece of music is not referred to as a "song." A song, by definition, refers to something sung. All classical musicians are irked when people call classical pieces "songs." My instructors informed me of that fact very early on when I was a student musician. ;) So, seeing as a "song" is something sung, the subject matter is the definition of and at the core of the meaning of the piece in question.
