Even though her career and life was short lived, her songs and voice resonated with me. She truly had one of the best voices around. Love this song! I had the privelige of meeting her and being in her company several times through a mutual friend, whom was in the music industry. My friend at the time surprised me and had Phyllis call me to sing Happy Birthday to me ( via phone). I will never ever forget it.

i remember going to my prom in 1980 and i had nobody to go to the prom with and i walked all the way to the hotel where we had the prom at and i seen this girl on the wall just standing there and not with nobody. and i walked over and told her can i have this dance and when we was dancing we had the time of our lives and we danced all night and we walked home together and we went to college together and had a daughter in 1983 and name her phyllisa and to this day i'm still under her spell everytime i hear this song it reminds me of that beautiful night on june 17, 1980
