yeah if you read the sleeve notes in 'Both Sides' it's why he said he recorded it all at home straight away, to capture the spirit that gets lost when you go to a studio.If you think about songs like 'I Don't Care Anymore', those demos must have been great.

It's kind of sad that most of the people only knows "Mr.Collins soft side" and makes conclusions of that. If they would only listen this (album version), i Don't Care Anymore, ITAT etc. Then they would we see how great Phil really is - Amazing ANGER!

Yeah clearly he had not finalized the lyrics and was just "voice sounding" to get a feel for the song. Many people think that "I Don't Care Anymore" is the most powerful song this album. But I think the final version of this song is just has compelling and powerful!!

Sorry for the mini-rant , but it has to be said: the final version is SUPPOSED to be better...that's why it's a DEMO!! Phil deserves huge appreciation for allowing his demos to be heard by the world. Too many insecure artists who don't want us to hear great songs in their infancy stage.

Wow what a find.....you can really hear how dark his mood must have been when this sprang into life as a demo. His best work was around this period for sheer emotion and anger and the finished version carries that through.
