From Mercury album, "Two Rooms-Celebrating The Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin" [1991]

RadDudeski69The "But Seriously" sessions, eh? I kind of figured that, from the subtle effect on his voice--that reverb thing he used on "Heat on the Street" and "Hang In Long Enough"--and the sound of that piano, the Yamaha Electric, which comes from the "Groovy Kind of Love" cover he did for "Buster."

I've listened to the Toto version and now this version by sir Phil. These covers are competent, but they're lacking that 'soul' that Elton brought to the original.

You make a good point though. Elton is certainly way more respected by critics and public. You don't hear the term National Treasure used in connection with Collins, and I'll probably get a knighthood before he does!! LOL

guess I can't argue with that

Phil's certainly a better drummer.

LOVE this version! Elton's original is awesome, but Collins takes it to a whole 'nother level

I think you meant to reply to the other person but ended up replying to me instead. But yeah, Two Rooms is a very good album.

Its from the Two Rooms album. Other good songs on the album are 'Philadelphia Freedom" by Hall & Oates, "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" by The Who, "Levon" by Jon Bon Jovi, "Rocket Man" by Kate Bush and "Bitch Is Back" by Tina Turner.

This is a great interpretation of a great Elton John song. Phil you did it your way and did Sir Elton proud!

I believe it's from the Elton John and Bernie Taupin Tribute album, "Two Rooms" (1991), but I'm not the person who uploaded this song though. If you haven't heard this album before, see if you can find some other tunes from it because it's really good. Especially George Michael's version of "Tonight". That's by far my personal fave from that tribute album, with this jam a very close second.

Not even his own song, but still one of the best things he ever did. I haven't listened to his solo songs for a long time and this one is now really one of my favourite. You Cant Hurry Love is a nice cover and not even a bad song, but compared to this? :D
