Here's an interesting thing to see. Peter Green had his Splinter Group during the 90's.

Consisted of Nigel Watson, Spike Edney and two Purple people Cozy Powell & Neil Murray.

Of course Cozy & Neil played in a huge amount of groups (and projects) together, so this

cooperation with Green was nothing particular. You can see and hear the Splinter Group

performing legendary piece made by Green, which turned out to be the last single that he

ever recorded with Fleetwood Mac......

Fabulous raritie for all Peter Green, Cozy Powell, Neil Murray fans around this bluesy world.

Cheers...............

Why are people being so unkind about Peter Green when he has accomplished so much since Munich, the psychosis and the awful Electric Shock therapy which he suffered? Seems to me he hasn't lost his amazingly sensitive touch or his natural sense of rhythm and timing. And I really do like this version, in fact I far prefer it to the original Fleetwood Mac recording, which I didn't like at all.

It is so sad that those wierd Germans fucked him over so bad...was it in 1970 ..messed him up for rest of his life...

Peter green was without a doubt the best blues guitar player and writer of his day , bar none , and if he ever comes back from his illness there will be a lot of mouths open ,

I used to hate The Green Manalishi becuase it was not bluesy enough...but now it seems experimental....hard rock. The guitar playing on the Fleetwood Mac albums is very creative

You cant say that about him in his prime, today he is, sadly, only a shell of a man who was a great, creative and original amazing guitarist. Try listening to Then Play On and End Of The Game.

My apologies, I ran out of characters in my previous message. Listen to PGs early material if you can. He certainly did influence subsequent generations of guitarists as well as his peers. I beg to differ with Gillanfan89 a little. IMHo PG was very creative: I cite Green Manalishi, Black Magic Woman (bet you thought it was a Santana song), Albatross and Oh Well as compelling evidence...

I must add my 5 cents-worth here as I was lucky enough to see Mr Green back in the days when the band was called "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac". He was absolutely outstanding. At the time, he, along with Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton, were the top performers of electric blues/heavy rock in the UK and probably the world. Everyone else followed. Sadly PG is now just a shadow of his former self and has struggled with severe mental illness attributed to taking bad acid.

To be honest, I never heard of him...and I thought I knew music fairly well. He is certainly different, but not too much like Fleetwood Mac. He must be under-rated.
