The overall feel of this, and near every technique used, I have learned from either Pete Seeger records or his books. The Up-Picking or 'basic strum' is similar to frailing except folkier and more flexible ... Pete plays this in C-tuning and I wrote it in G tuning, capo at 2 for my voice using, as said, tachniques derived from his records and books.

Thanks for the Up-picking tutorial. Was privileged to have met Pete a number of times. May I ask what is the name of the program you are using to show the Verses? It looks like a MIDI program and is it PC or Mac.

I love the Pete Seeger strum but could never work it out, thankyou for posting the vid, I can appreciate the time you have spent learning the strum patterns, and also for sharing the stuff you have learned over the years. Great video!!
