A lot of people make the complaint that they want the "old" Mariah back, what they mean is they want her to go back to the 1990-1994 period of her music. If she did that then we wouldn't have songs like this. She wouldn't have ever started opening up to us. I'm completely frustrated that Mariah is given so much shit for trying to keep it current, while no one says a word about any other artist trying to do the same thing.
