Bob Shane, the last remaining member of the Kingston Trio, in a 2008 recording from his solo album of a song first performed by his Kingston Trio 51 years earlier in 1957. "Pay Me My Money Down" is a calypso that dates at least as far back as the early 20th century. The melody with different lyrics re-titled "Cindy, Oh Cindy" became a hit in the mid-1950s for Vince Martin backed by the folk group The Tarriers. The song was recorded in this more traditional mode by The Weavers and was covered famously in the recent Seeger Sessions tour and recording by Bruce Springsteen.
