Have loved this song since 1st hearing it as a kid. Not checking, from memory think Ann Peebles did it originally. If not, someone will enlighten me, I'm sure. lol-lol Perfect tune 4 Paul. Funky, hard, brings back "sweet memories" (as in comment below me here) of Stax, Volt, & Hi labels outa Memphis town. At Stax, Booker T. & M.G.s were the "house" band. :)) Cropper, Duck D., Al Jackson &... oh yes, Booker Funkin' TEE. :)) Ha-Ha.....Otis, Issac, Sam & Dave, Joe Tex, Rev. Al Green, Rufus Thomas, Staple Singers, Clarence Carter, on & on. So glad I got to grow up listening to the best of all genres of jams on radio. No more of that. Thanks 4 THIS post! Thumbs up! :D

This is one talented man...Voice control and tone. A natural interpreter of lyrics. Anything he sings is a winner in my book, and for me, it just doesn't get much better than this. I never cared much for this song by anyone, but he really brought it home for me!
