Paul Gilbert with a face-melting cover of Jeff Beck's "El Becko" from Guitar's Practising Musicians Vol 1 (1989). As far as I know this was recorded with the PGM Ibanez + ADA Preamp combination and I have to say it's one of his better tracks in my humble opinion. The picture isn't exactly contemporary with the track but it's pretty close....

Paul played all instruments on this track recorded directly in believe it or not; guitar and bass into an 8 track...probably a Tascam. He's using a Drum machine...an Alesis model

I agree its Pauls ADA and a Duncan wired in parallel (neck), I play the exact same setup (ADA mp 1 into a Combo, epiphone Wilshire for 250 bucks and two Dimarzio Super Dist. wired parallel) and have the same sound... :-)

I take back what I said about Sheehan, but it sounds like his tone a lot!

Two things: Firstly, sounds like Sheehan playing bass, which is cool. Secondly, MercutioUK, judging by the year/tone, Paul was probably playing his pink 'Telesavalas' Ibanez RG, which had a Seymour Duncan Distortion (B) and Minibucker (N) in. That's just my opinion though, no facts whatsoever!

My favorite songs are always Beck covers of have some connection. Look up Eric Glass's Scatterbrain cover..my favorite tune that he has done and he is a great guitarist.
