Alicia keys can play piano decent,I would not say great.I mean she can play jus tlike anybody that studies 6 years of classical piano but nothign out of this world.There are thousnads pianist in teh world with her level and shes definately not in the league os Patrice,Stevies etc.They sell that genius thing,put ehr in a beautiful grand adn it works,but shes just a great singe r pianist,not this maestro instrument virtuoso league

Dear the thing is there is absolutely NO debate or comparison between ALicia nad Patrice.Patrice was a child prodigy,shes a piano virtuoso,has studied classical jazz advanced composition.Alicia doesnt even have gospell background,nor jazz foundation.She got classical training and is soul influenced.Enough to play R&B but in no way in Patrice league.If you pay atention to ehr composition they are mostly classical infleunced,not complex at all cause she doesnt have jazz funk background

You are so right Patrice was child prodigy on the piano,and has a solid jazz foundation and I may be wrong but Alicia Keys got only classical training.She cant even play gospell I think she very overated on the keys.There are thousands pianist better than her in the whole world. Patrice is definately another league.Anybody who plays keys knowsTo prov eyou are a piano maestro you need more than a beautiful grand ina music video

That's like trying to compare or calling Barry White the original maestro when there are plenty that came way before his time. There is even a debate amongst jazz aficionados as to who was the best, Ellington, Basie, Calloway, Eckstine, Dorsey and others. In the end, it all comes down to personal choice.

Dig it - this rhythm section is not cutting it - bass player isn't damping properly - notes are hanging where they shouldn't - that way the key rhythm accent is lost Horrible - not to say, white
