Yes, having at least one of these two still with us is a blessing. It just shows how we need to thoroughly enjoy others while they are with us, because it seems there is never enough time at all. So, Olivia does offer a great version of "The Long and Winding Road." She also recorded some of George Harrison's songs that came from "All Things Must Pass." She truly has the Midas touch.

I love both of these ladies' voices, although Karen is my favorite. Olivia, as the rest of the world, was so saddened by Karen's loss. Judging from songs Karen did like I Can Dream Can't I and When I Fall in Love, we can only imagine the "standards" she could have recorded if she were still with us. Thankfully, we still have Olivia blessing us with her wonderful voice. Olivia does a wonderful version of The Long and Winding Road (originally by the Beatles) on her Come On Over album.

I had no idea! Each one of them was truly a contemporary of the other. When Olivia issued this album in 1976, Karen and her brother Richard had released "A Kind of Hush." It's all so much wonderful music, and it makes the day wonderful to hear such treasures, too.

According to Olivia, they were actually friends, although because of their touring schedules, they probably didn't get to see much of each other.

I wonder if those two wonderful ladies ever met each other face to face, too. What a meeting of the minds it must have been if they had.
