Of Montreal siguen haciendo discos raros, donde mezclan infinidad de estilos con absoluta libertad. "Aureate Gloom" tiende hacia el glam, como criterio unificador, por momentos recuerda a David Bowie, pero también tiene ramalazos de noise. Lo mejor es plantearse su escucha como un divertimento, de ese modo se podrá disfrutar de este álbum sin prejuicios. "Baseem sabry" suena a psicodelia hippie; "Empyrean Abattoir" puede recordar a Violent Femmes; "Aluminum Crown" es una orquestación con actitud punk y"Chtonian dirge for uruk the other" es un tortuoso tema . Dicho lo dicho, te enfrentas a un disco complicado, lleno de sobresaltos y no apto a todos los oídos. Quizá demasiado retorcido.Música independiente novedades.
