Since the day I let you believe, that a grand life I would provide

I am haunted by the failure you see before you, consuming the echo

To travel the road of our dreams, with my back against the wall

All I can do, is look the other way, and pretend that your face held a

smile.

Not to see your sullen eyes, staring past my soul, into the darkness of

night.

I feel I've failed you, when we both know, I never had the chance, to say

hello.

Far away from your warmth I fade

Silently, I bid you farewell, and wallow in the moment

So very small, this distance between us, to travel so long, and gain no

ground

The very face I see in the mirror, knows the truth behind the lies

For my trust, I hear the dead leaf echo, and the answer awaits us on the

other side

Far away from your warmth I fade

Silently, I bid you farewell, and wallow in the moment

Looking back to the days when we were poor, and all we had was each other

You looked so sad, and almost ashamed to have me at your side

In circles spins my mind, and the vertigo makes me sick

All I can do, is look the other way, and pretend that your face held a

smile.

Not to see your sullen eyes, staring past my soul, into the darkness of

night.

I feel I've failed you, when we both know, I never had the chance, to say

hello.

Hmmm, well "cokadoodledoobetchez", I suppose I can see the "Vincent Price" thing regarding the spoken word bit at the beginning, but the other 5 minutes of the song is completely different. Then again, it doesn't surprise me that a teen girl who listens to mostly "-core" bands would only listen to 60 seconds of a song and pass final judgement. One persons "cheese" is another persons gold, I'd wager to be alot of the music you listen to would be deemed silly by others here too. C'est la vie.

I'm not a huge ND fan but I love this song 'cause it's like written about me. In fact one of my lyrics was so similar that I could be sued if I haven't changed 'em.

@IsraeliMetalhead But then again I understand if you're not into that type of music adn I respect your opinion;not everyone's quite the same

@IsraeliMetalhead Well,in this case I don't know what to say;I don't think the occasional repeating riffs could be considered boring if you accept the concept of experimentation.the genre they play adds some jazz elements wich is that is an experimental for of music though Opeth doesn't really admit that, the genre speaks for itself. For instance look at Meshuggah or if not at Godflesh;they both use repeating patherns wich complete each other even more the more the track progresses.

@bloodyrockfire For the record..it's not the "heaviness" it's the repeatitive music, the riff that repeats itself for too long

@IsraeliMetalhead ok let's clear something up mate;if a band doesn't always play heavy stuff and incorporate many progressive elements that doesn't mean they're boring in a whole just because you say so;some variety in tastes doesn't feel to bad I think.Peaple should stop claimimng a bands plays badly only due the lack of sadisfaction it gives them;this judgement is complete bullshit
