I can play those same tones, but I don't sound like Norman.

Obviously Tony loved and respected Norman and his version, because he chose to record it. We can enjoy both pickers, so can we just not even start? Let Mr. Blake have his moment, and learn what you can from it. This video is a gift to musicians.

I play an old D-41 and a Gibson from the 60's. Wouldn't trade either.

Whoever knocks Norman for teaching this needs punched by Tony Rice. Old Tony'd back Norman anyday.

I believe Norman is playing his signature Martin 000-28. He helped design it.

Not one of Norman's nights I guess... he wrote the song but this version is too slow, and his playing is out of shape ...There's only one version of this song which blows the mind, TONY RICE's , perhaps one of the greatest country guitarists ever.

Slgis is correct. I have a virtually identical 00-40H conversion (by Burke). Braced for Hawaiian style, it is a great flat picking guitar after conversion.

He could be playing a $99.00 Yamaha and make it sound like a million dollar guitar..

makes a hard song look so easy. Effortless, fluid.
