I was flooded with great memories listening to this again for the first time in years. Thank you for sharing, Stefano. This song alone was worth a sub from me. :)

Only the good LORD knows how miss the range, horses, cattle and long hard days work. The cotton, sweet corn and wheet fields deep in black clay. Long live the real cowboys, South Texas King Ranchers. Hey Carlos, wanna go on another ride? This old cowboy still has some life left in him...

This song would really light up even more if some nice photos of country were added!

Talent comes in many forms. Gaga is very talented. That said, for me "it takes me down the road where my name is know..." is still the best. 'nuff said.

It was released on Plain Dirt Fashion in 1984. The first of three number one hits for the group. If you like this, check out Hold On from 1987. Thier album called Workin' Band released in the late 80s is out of print and very rare.

Anybody else notice that the subtitle'the Sharecropper's dream' wasn't said in the lyrics?
