Me and my grandma would watch this every Christmas time, and she passed away on June 12th 2015, I'll still watch it for her every year even if i have to buy the DVD, just to keep her spirit alive. R.I.P grandma

This song brings tears every time. It brings back memories (wonderful and painful) of my mom who went home almost 20 years ago. Such a beautiful song about the humanity inherent in us all, we just need to open our hearts.Love the movie as well.

Do the words "mawkish" or "maudlin" exist in an American English dictionary? I think you need these concepts - if you had them, who knows, the whole world might have been spared country and western. Ffs, how can anyone find clichéd drivel like this "moving" - the song itself moves me to laughter and the cynicism behind it only moves my bowels. Having said that, it raises some interesting theological points; do we go to heaven in the clothes we die in? I thought it was all white robes and stuff; and is Jesus so mercenary that he's going to think badly of someone if they turn up in shabby shoes? AAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgh!!!

This from a child would be just how he would think. And to you people writing bad I hope your young child never has to deal with a loss of a parent cause if they talk like this to try and get something for the parent just remember what bad things you have said about this song. It is a beautiful song of how a child is trying to deal with his mother dying.

Touching or not, this song is just plain awful! Patton Oswalt wasn't kidding.

489 people walking among us don't like this song! That's why we have terrorists out there I think! God may touch their hearts to see the beauty of giving and understand that Christmas is not in Wal-Mart and Bestbuy....but giving and feeling for others.

What a shitty song.

This song is revolting. "I knew that God had sent this little boy to remind me what Christmas is all about". So, God gave this kid's mother a terminal illness just to make you feel a bit better about yourself? How people fall for this manipulative shit is utterly beyond me.
