This is my favorite New Order song & album. I've listened to it 341 times according to my ipod, and that's just since 2005. I've never actually contemplated the lyrics, but I hope it's about drugs, not homosexuality. I like the mood music puts me in, not nessesarily the lyrics. (By the way, I know they are gay....I'm not)

I might be reading too much into this but this song was probably written about being addicted to drugs as a previous commenter wrote (many of their songs were about drugs). I recall a documentary saying that the members of New Order spent two years or something like that in Ibiza to work on "Technique." Song almost sounds like something they personally experienced while there.If I remember correctly, Shaun Ryder of the Happy Mondays (also signed to Factory Records) struggled with a similar addiction in Ibiza... or maybe it was something other Island.

One of my favorite New Order songs ever. Just beautiful. But oh what I wouldn't give for this song to be called "Peace of Mind" or something. I hate having to recommend to New Order neophytes a song called "Mr. Disco".
