I don't think it is a "Canadian" problem. With how much music is made and spewed forth by the internet people now have to seek out new music. For most it is simply easier to listen to top 40. There are plenty of non-shitty Canadian bands who are very popular. Its just all that much harder to "make it."

@dalboy83 People who are easily entertained by the illusion of integrity like Nickleback.But Sloan,The Dears,City And Colour,Alexisonfire,Sam Roberts Band,Broken Social Scene,Billy Talent,Metric,Bedouin Soundclash,Tegan and Sara,NWL are great examples\Canadian bands that are making great "new rock".And are proof of the talented bands that people who know of love good music get excited for.Oh what the hell i'll throw in "Arcade Fire" also.

@dalboy83 Lol, are you kidding me? Look at every Dallas Green video, there are hundreds of Canandians supporting him. Nickelback, and Justin Bieber are just 2 of the artists that Canadians tend to be unsupportive about.
