From the CD - Natural High, originally released as an LP 1972. I discovered this song one night when I was about 13 or 14 years old and I have Tony Brown of WDAS, Philadelphia to thank for it. It was about 1 am and I should have been asleep but I had my transistor radio and head under the pillow so mom couldn't hear. A song came on and the singer's first falsetto note seemed to last forever. Then it broke into a sweet, soulfully swinging jam. I was captivated. It built and built until by the end of the song I was completely in a groove. Unfortunately Tony Brown didn't announce the artist and I was totally disappointed (there wasn't much talking after the midnight "transition.") Apparently this was grown folks music and they seemed to play it only at night. I listened out for the song for months before I heard it again. After that I was hooked. I knew about "Natural High," because next to the Whispers "I Only Meant to Wet My Feet," it was prpbably the most popular love song during that time. But this song was the icing on top for me. This has been one of my favorites since then. Like Natural High, I don't believe that anyone else has tried to do it again. I also learned how to 2-step on this song. You folks from Philly who grew up during that time know what I'm talking about!

I would be remiss to not dedicate this in memory of Albert "Zippy" Gibson, one of my best buddies growing up who really liked this song, too. We played this and a lot of other jams driving out to Lincoln U on the weekends back in the day.

Enjoy!
