Comment pages are such strange places. I started to listen to another performance of this by a different orchestra and had to turn it off because it was so bad. The comments were full of praise (I think it was an amatuer orchestra. All the players were in their early 20's). I then listened to this one because it identified the orchestra, and it was a relief to hear a decent performance of the piece, and the comments are mostly negative.

i'm playing this in our school symphony orchestra on french horn. though the solo violinist did miss a few notes towards the start, it was a passionate, beautiful, and charactered performance nonetheless. the flute soloist was subpar in my opinion. beautiful performance all together!

Wouldn't the violinist be more comfortable if she stood up while playing? I know that I would be more comfortable watching her if she was standing.

Great performance, but surely the concertmaster could have played along with the rest of the violins during the tutti section instead of sitting there with nothing to do....it's not like this is a concerto.

Aside from one or two mistakes, this is probably my favorite interpretation of the lead violin's part in this piece. Truly a masterpiece.
