Last night there was a thick fog covering everything, so I went out, just to sit next to a forested field and listened to this on repeat.Soothing and beautiful beyond my descriptive powers. Both Nest and Agalloch are wonderful artists who've in my opinion managed to convey the intricate connection between the modern man and the ancient nature in which we still all live, even if we've build a lot of concrete and steel boxes and technology to distract ourselves from that most of the time.

No, I think there´s only one. One time only vocally, the other time instrumentally, or just mixed^^

This is beautiful, very haunting and ethereal, mystical. And the lyrics remind me of J.R.R. Tolkein, and Elves.

Agalloch should release more songs with this kind of vocals, like a harsh whispering. I only heard it in "A Desolation Song", from the album the Mantle and in this one. To me it is quite soothing and it arises some feelings that can't be explained.

John Haughm's magic sure does get to a lot of places. More good work that he is involved with seems to be popping up quite often. I know i am extra blessed because of it.

This song is like a drug, I can't stay without listening to it no more

Just one band, Nest normally does not use vocals. This song is from a split album with the American band Agalloch. Two members of Agalloch contributed the vocals and guitars for this song.

Dude, please, shut up. If you don't like it, don't try to like it. I don't see nothing bad with the song, I think is perfect. I would like to know what do you consider a "real" instrument, because if you don't think that a guitar, a kantele or a pan flute are real instruments, something is really wrong with you. About the lyrics, why those would be for children? Just because he said "we played in this forest"? I'm 18 and if I'm in a forest I would play in it, maybe you are too mature to have fun

I was trying to like Nest, but this nintendo music (guys you should get real instruments... this is just too inorganic!!) and the lyrics? Is this for children? "once we played in this forest in the shade of the tall trees at the dawn of this particular time"??? Fuck... I'm really disappointed (Agalloch's guys rocks, but they don't know how to do this badly)

Nest is just a band, but this is a split. There's the Agalloch's singer and the Nest's members at the instrumental

This song is a masterpiece. For the last month, every night, I play this in loop and dose away. Pure bliss, Beautiful kantele, guitar and vocals. Wish I could just watch Agalloch/Nest make their music for a living.

@reignofthehammer I don't agree , I think the song is too bring you memories about your childhood and not forget it. It is also to make you think that there are no great woods anymore, like the ones that existed when you were a children and were you used to play.

IMO the lyrics are about growing up and forgetting the wonder and innocence of childhood. Beautiful song... makes smile at the memories but at the same time weep for the loss...
