Formed outside of Dallas in the mid-70s, the Nervebreakers were originally called Mr. Nervous Breakdown and did covers of "Nervous Breakdown" by Eddie Cochran, "19th Nervous Breakdown" by the Stones and other similarly themed songs. By the time the Ramones rolled through town in '77, they changed their style in a more punk oriented direction. After having opened for the Ramones, they soon got the gig opening for the Pistols at the Longhorn Ballroon and later warmed up a show for the Clash. The band released three singles before breaking up in '81.
