One of my favorite Nena songs! My mom is from Germany, moved to America in her 20s. When she was younger she looked so much like Nena. Nena has been a big part of my life growing up. She's fantastic.

1984. New in Germany, in U.S. Army, waxing floors, lighting Johnson wax on fire pouring it on floor then buffing with a Tshirt. Nena album "Nena" is playing. First song? Kino. The album is a classic most people will never hear. I know it by heart, and when I hear it I think of buffing floors.

It's certainly in the mix since Germans took over most of what's England after the Romans left, but it mixed (not replaced) with what people were speaking before the Germans came. There's also a lot of French from when William the Conqueror took England, Latin from the Romans, and others mixed in as well.

just remember german is the root language of english that is why so many words are close sounding like hallo-hello and welkommen-welcome. just remember the w has a v sound in german

Well, actually neither I understand everything in Portuguese, my mother language, but what I suggested was that he could try to learn at least the basic. German is diffucult but is quite fun.

BTW, just for a bit of trivial info. The German E is equal to the english A. Although most english speaking people would pronounce her name as NINA it is in actuality pronounced as Na (long A)na(short A) Or if you will it sounds like NAYNA A "ah' B is "bay" C is "tsay"- The t and the s are combined in the same way tse tse in tse tse fly is D is "day" E is A or (eh) F is the same as the english one G is gay (but it is still in the closet LOL)
