I lived in Tucson when Neko was living there too. I picked my wife up at Tucson airport and while I was waiting to grab her luggage off the carousel Neko walks up with who I believe was Carolyn Mark and the two of them stood there singing while waiting for luggage. How cool is that?

"She gave them justice and truth" Very well said. That's exactly what she did IMO. The song is definitely about the Green River Murderer as she's said in a an interview with AV Club. She, like every girl/woman in that part of the world had to live through that frightening time and they caught him just after she finished recording this song. It's such an intense song with a dark beauty.

The song is indeed both haunting and beautiful, and Case's dreamlike voice seems to give the song a ...sorry, I don't know how else to phrase it...a subconscious power that enhances its attractive eeriness. She is underrated for her creative talent, I agree.

Whether it was about murder or not it is a VERY eerie, yet hauntingly beautiful song. It does, however, bring images of dying and lust into my head, that just draws you in . Obviously someone was lured to their untimely ending, and their lives weren't rememberable to anyone, they had been forgotten. It would seem that Neko created a story that told us exactly how it all ended, She gave them justice and truth. One of the most creative and talented song writers of our time people!!

That's right, although she didn't know it was Ridgeway when she wrote and recorded it. The news about catching the Green River Murderer came out when she was just finishing post-production of this song and she said it was a painful.
