This song reminds me of my ex , we were a happy couple but she was from a muslim background and her family forced her into an arranged marriage. We were both 18 & together for 4 years, she wanted to commit suiacide or run away. I stopped her from doing both. We thought about running away but we never had money & nobody would support us. It was soo hard and emotional, 7 years on & I still havent forgot about her because of the impact her leaving me had on my life, i couldn't eat for days & suffered from depression & anxiety for months. I never blamed her at all, it wasn't her fault, she had a very strict father/family that would have never accepted me into her family even tho I am a muslim myself but from another country. She was Asian & im black. Whenever i think about it,... I try to figure out if there was anything i could have done to keep us together but knowing how her family was, if she went missing for a day her family would have called in a swat team to look for her. Anyway i miss her & i have no idea where she is but i've been told by one of her friends that shes got 3 kids. I hope she's happy.
