That isn't a "chinatown" flute, trust me. Those take skill to make and decent student ones cost at least $100. It's a side-blown bamboo flute. This type of dizi is a qudi or xindi (depending on what key it's in). In terms of length, it looks more like a qudi, but sounds like xindi. If I had to guess, I would say this is a xindi dizi in key of b flat.
