This song has such great dynamics. Quiet sections. Loud sections. Instense buildups. I love the vocals. Tender when singing the parts of the mother and son. Absolutely beastly when singing the part of the angry abusive father or of the son when he's in turmoil. I love the way My Dying Bride tells stories through their music. What a sad story about such a wrong way for a man to live, and the sadness and pain he creates. To me it's a warning. This is art, not simply a manifestation of pop culture
