Growing through my late teens to my early twenties during Seattle's music movement from rock to grunge, I have to say that MLB was one of the short lived & last of the great rock bands. Andrew had a totally original sound to his vocals....the kind of original sound that separates all of the great rock singers like Ozzy, Bon, Steven Tyler, ect. Wood was only scratching the surface of his talents when his life ended. BTW- just for the record, Cobain was shit in comparison. Peace.

For all of those hung up on genres, Andrew Wood himself actually described MLB as a "glam rock" band, which I guess best describes his own theatrics and stage persona. Grunge, glam, or whatever you want to call it, I just wish we could have enjoyed more of this band. A whole lot more...

Incredible tune from one of the most incredible "relatively unknown bands" of our time!! And I must ask what is it about Seattle that puts out these incredible bands?? From Hendrix to Queensryche and the Mighty NEVERMORE!!! and all the dozens of others including the obvious like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Nirvana -Seattle surpasses any other city in the world in my not so humble opinion for putting out MONSTER bands and talent!!!

You're right about how a lot of people OD like that but in Adrew's case he did quit, but then he started shooting up again & was for a while before he died. Watch the documentary on him called Malfunkshun. It's on youtube & goes into depth about his entire life & how he died. It sounds like he would've lived but 10 hrs of hospital records on his condition & treatment went missing. So it seems like he woulda made it if some nurse or Dr did their job correctly.
