Did they only hate God because God on Earth was only represented by the Church which was totally fucked in the a**e a thousand years before their birth? Most of the 'devil worshiper' bands seem the only bands around during my maturation which had any sense of humanity. Slayer, Darkthrone and Metallica come to mind. These guys at least had something to be angry about. Hopefully they find peace one day, enjoy doomsday as an ending and beginning and find that suffering is better than living in that you can say you suffered and still lived. God is an otherworld deity who you might get to meet one day- you might have to die first though. And forget the stereotypical picture of a Moses in the sky because otherworld deities are a whole lot 'funkier' than that
